Inter plot €8m Akinsanmiro buy back after Pisa sale

Inter Milan are preparing to re-sign Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro for €8m after Pisa Sporting Club moved to make his stay permanent despite their relegation, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

According to Italian transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, he indicated that Pisa have activated a €7m purchase option to secure the 20-year-old following an impressive season in difficult circumstances.

However, the deal is expected to trigger a swift response from Inter, who had inserted a buy-back clause into the agreement and are now set to exercise it, effectively regaining control of the player’s future.

Schira revealed that the Serie A club had anticipated Pisa’s decision and are ready to act immediately to bring the midfielder back.

“Pisa have decided to trigger the option to buy (€7M) for Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, but Inter have a buyback clause (€8M) and are set to use it,” Schira reported on X.

The development highlights Inter’s long-term belief in the Nigerian youth international, who remains under contract at the San Siro until 2030 and is viewed as a key prospect for the future.

Despite Pisa’s willingness to retain him, the buy-back clause places Inter in a strong position, allowing them to determine the next stage of his career.

Options under consideration reportedly include integrating him gradually into the first team or sending him out on another loan spell to continue his development at a competitive level.

Schira further emphasised the club’s confidence in the midfielder’s trajectory, noting that Inter see significant room for growth in his career.

“Contract until 2030. Inter believe a lot in Akinsanmiro’s potential for growth in his career,” he added.

Akinsanmiro’s situation now appears set for a swift resolution, with Inter poised to reclaim a player they regard as an important part of their long-term plans.
