Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, on Monday appeared at a high-profile political rally in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, where he expressed support for President Bola Tinubu and urged deeper collaboration among political actors.
The governor described his presence at the event as a solidarity visit, aligning himself with what he called a growing coalition of progressive forces across the country.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo stood alongside Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, whom he referred to as “my own brother,” as the rally drew large crowds of supporters.
“I am here on a solidarity march with my own brother, the Rt. Hon. Governor of Ebonyi State,” Soludo said, adding that Nwifuru would remain in office “until 2031.”
He also affirmed his support for the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu, stating: “I am here in solidarity with you because today, you are endorsing the President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
While acknowledging Nigeria’s economic and social challenges, Soludo expressed optimism that ongoing federal reforms would yield positive results.
He further indicated that his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, would soon take a formal position aimed at strengthening a broader progressive alliance nationally.
Addressing Ndị Igbo, Soludo urged a shift away from grievance-driven politics, calling instead for pragmatic engagement and unity of purpose.
“We must move from the alliance of protest to the alliance for progress… We must not waste our votes again,” he said.
