The Alumni Association of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, has pledged its collaboration with the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Samuel Oladipo, saying that the association would always leverage on the influence and support of its membership to further advance the rich academic excellence of the university.

The association expressed its heartfelt joy and satisfaction over the recent appointment of Professor Oladipo as the 6th substantive and the 3rd indigenous Vice-Chancellor of the premier University of Education in Nigeria, describing his appointment as very apt, marking a new beginning of greatness for the institution.
The alumni, while hailing Professor Oladipo’s commendable record of dedication to service, said that “We are particularly excited that our new VC is a man of innovation and proven commitment to advancing the university’s excellence.
“It is, therefore, delightful that this appointment has come at a most auspicious time. The association has also carefully considered the expectations of its members, stakeholders, and the broader university community, concluding that this transition presents an opportunity for strategic collaboration through purposeful leadership to further the University’s development.
“The association offers the assurance of its continued support as a strategic stakeholder and partner in this collective pursuit of building a university grounded in academic excellence, strong pedigree, community service, staff welfare, and infrastructural development.
“Once again, we extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Oladipo on his well-deserved appointment as the 6th substantive Vice-Chancellor of TASUED, even as he formally resumes office today with the determination to further take our dear university to higher heights.”
The new VC’s five-year appointment, which was announced by the University’s Governing Council on April 21, 2026, reportedly followed an intensive four-month selection process.
Prior to his appointment, Professor Oladipo served as Director of Research and External Relations, Dean of the College of Specialized and Professional Education (COSPED), Deputy Director, and, later, Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance in the University.
