Ensure quality materials are used in road construction to guaranty durability – Oba Ladoja advises FG

Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1) has urged the Federal Government to ensure quality materials are used in the road construction to guarantee durability of the road construction not only in Ibadanland, Oyo State, but throughout the country.

The monarch, while commending President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for bringing so much developmental projects to Ibadan and Oyo State at large, observed that infrastructural facilities are being brought to Ibadan and Oyo State in general in terms of road construction/rehabilitation in recent times

The commendation message was contained in the press release issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, shortly after the courtesy visit paid to Olubadan Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja by the Management Staff of the Federal Ministry of Works at Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.

The paramount ruler further noticed that some of our roads are in a deplorable condition as a result of overloaded trucks and other vehicles plying our roads and lack of proper drainage along the roads

The Monarch assured the visitors, according to their request, that aggressive sensitisation programmes will be embarked upon for the people in Ibadan and Oyo State to ensure that the waterways are not blocked by refuse

Earlier in his appreciative statement, Aina Kolawole, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Works and the leader of the team, thanked the Olubadan and members of his council for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the staff on their arrival in Ibadan and Oyo State to embark upon the ongoing projects in the state

According to the leader of the team, the Federal Ministry of Works requested the support of Kabiyesi and other traditional rulers to provide an enabling environment for the workers to do their jobs effectively and perfectly

Finally, he further solicited the help of His Imperial Majesty to stop the residents from encroaching on the setback for their personal gains as well as desist from dropping refuse on the waterways
