A $10k Grant for Africa’s Fintech builders 

The first wave of financial technology on the continent was about digitizing payments, onboarding millions of users, and proving that consumers would trust digital financial services. The next wave is decidedly more technical. Today’s ecosystem demands profitability, infrastructure resilience, strict compliance, liquidity, and seamless cross-border experiences.

Against that backdrop, Breet, a cryptocurrency payment infrastructure platform known across West Africa for its automated crypto-to-fiat settlements has announced a $10,000 equity-free grant programme for African builders working across fintech, crypto, stablecoins, and payments.

The initiative targets growth-stage teams developing products in critical areas such as:

The timing of this grant is notable. Raising capital is demonstrably harder than it was two years ago, and founders are under immense pressure to show stronger fundamentals and clear paths to revenue. But beyond a funding cheque, many early-stage companies are also searching for technical partners that can help them improve product performance and scale efficiently.

This is where Breet’s evolution from a consumer app to an infrastructure provider stands out. Selected participants in the grant programme will have access to Breet’s API, which helps businesses integrate crypto-to-cash functionality, improve settlements, and create smoother user experiences.

ATE 2026 is expected to attract more than 7,000 participants and is increasingly positioning itself as the premier hub for enterprise technology, infrastructure, and commercially viable innovation in Africa.

As Africa’s fintech sector matures, the lines between traditional fintech and crypto infrastructure are blurring. Stablecoins are increasingly becoming the default rail for cross border trade, and merchants are demanding smoother ways to accept digital assets. By combining equity-free capital, technical tools like their API, and direct ecosystem access, Breet is deploying one of the smartest strategies to support the next generation of builders.
