According to him, the payment was made before the close of work on Wednesday in fulfilment of Otti’s pledge to assist the actress with her medical expenses.
“We thank you immensely for your support and kindness of heart, sir. History will be kind to you,” he wrote.
The payment comes a day after the Abia State Government announced that the governor had approved the first phase of Nwosu’s medical expenses following her emotional appeal for financial assistance to undergo three life-saving surgeries.
PUNCH Online had earlier reported that the 62-year-old actress disclosed in a video shared on her Instagram page that she had been hospitalised for three weeks and urgently needed ₦30 million to undergo three surgeries.
“My people, my fans and my family, I know that you’ve not seen me in circulation for some time. I’ve been hospitalised now for three weeks. Please, the thing has gone beyond my control,” she said.
“I need your help. Don’t let me die. I know that you people never forsake me… I’m begging you, my fans and family, don’t let me die because I am going through a lot, as in pain.”
The actress appealed to fans, colleagues and well-wishers to support her treatment through her management, saying she could no longer cope with the financial burden of her healthcare.
The governor’s intervention has since drawn commendation from fans and members of the entertainment industry.
