The Osun State Police Command has announced the discovery of a 70-year-old woman found wandering in the state, calling on members of the public to help identify her family.

According to the statement, the elderly woman, identified as Shifawu Alabi, was found on April 24, 2026, and brought to the police by a Good Samaritan.
“On 24/04/2026, a Good Samaritan from Tiwadayo Street, Ofatedo brought to the police one elderly woman found wandering around the area. On interview, she gave her name as Shifawu Alabi ‘F’, aged about 70 years of Oja-Oba area, Ibadan.
“She could not give any satisfactory account of where she was going or coming from,” the notice read.
The command appealed to the public to assist in reconnecting the woman with her relatives.
“Disseminate to help reunite her with her loved ones please,” Ojelabi added.
The development comes amid similar cases of missing persons being traced and reunited with their families through public cooperation and police intervention.
Recently, the Kano State Police Command reunited a teenager who was initially believed to be a foreign national with his family after investigations revealed his true identity.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report cases involving missing or vulnerable individuals to the nearest police station.
