The CityBoy Movement has dismissed as false and malicious a viral social media publication allegedly attributing blasphemous statements to its Patron, Seyi Tinubu, regarding Almighty God and the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement signed on Monday by its Deputy Director-General, Communication and Public Affairs, O’tega Ogra, the group said the write-up, purportedly authored by one “Albaabu Abudulahi,” is deliberately inflammatory and intended to mislead the public and provoke religious tension.

It stressed that Seyi Tinubu never made such comments “at any time, in any place, through any channel or under any circumstance whatsoever.”
It added, “For the avoidance of doubt, Barr. Seyi Tinubu did not make the statement credited to him. The attribution is entirely false, malicious in intent, reckless in circulation and dangerous in consequence.”
The Movement further described Seyi Tinubu as a man of faith who holds deep reverence for God, insisting that he has never disrespected or questioned the supremacy of Almighty God.
“Barr. Seyi Tinubu is a man of faith who holds deep reverence for Almighty God. He believes firmly that all power belongs to God alone and that no man can attain, retain or exercise authority except by the grace, mercy and permission of the Almighty,” it stated.
It added that while he remains committed to mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, Seyi Tinubu has never placed political ambition above religious conviction.
“He has never insulted, mocked, questioned or diminished the supremacy of Almighty God or Allah, and will never do so,” the statement added.
The group warned that the viral publication was a calculated attempt to distort his image and incite religious sentiments in the country.
“The CityBoy Movement therefore urges Nigerians, across all faiths and political persuasions, to disregard this malicious fabrication and treat it for what it is: a calculated attempt by mischief makers to inflame passions and mislead the public,” it said.
It also cautioned against the spread of unverified content on social media, urging journalists and online users to verify information before publication or sharing.
