“holdbodí was created to make food access easier, and this outreach reminded us that food access remains an everyday reality for many people,” Akinyemi stated during the holdbodí community support in commemoration of 2026 Children’s Day.
“holdbodí was created to make food access easier, and this outreach reminded us that food access remains an everyday reality for many people,” Akinyemi stated during the holdbodí community support in commemoration of 2026 Children’s Day.
Every May 27, the world celebrates ‘Children’s Day’; however, stakeholders stated that ensuring save spaces for Nigerian children will help deepen their level of involvement in community engagement.
Over the past year, holdbodí has worked to improve food access through flexible payment options, personal food shopping, and community-centered support initiatives.
“What started as a Children’s Day outreach became a wider moment of community support across Lagos,” Akinyemi stated.
She added that while hundreds of children were reached across the locations visited, food support was also extended to market women, commercial riders, and other residents encountered during distribution.
According to Akinyemi, the Children’s Day outreach marks the debut activation of holdbodí community support — an arm of the platform focused on connecting people willing to help with communities where support is needed most.
“We believe every child deserves the freedom to play, laugh, and simply be a child,” Olusakin Labeodan, chief marketing officer, Leadway Assurance, stated.
Originally designed as a Children’s Day feeding initiative focused on underserved children, the outreach evolved organically throughout the day in response to realities encountered across different communities.
Labeodan added that being at the holdbodí community outreach reinforced the brand’s commitment to consistently lending a hand where it’s needed.
The outreach was held across multiple communities in Lagos, providing meals and food support through a collective effort powered by six brands and 51 individuals.
“At FAE Envelopes, we recognise the importance of proper nutrition in the growth and development of children. We are proud to support an initiative that contributes meaningfully to their well-being and future,” Adeleke Adeleye, COO, FAE Envelopes, stated.
The outreach, which took place across Ebute-Metta, Makoko, Agege, and Ogba, reached 1,347 children and adults across the various communities visited.
“At SRS Collection, we believe strong communities are built through meaningful acts of care and connection,” Uche Olise, brand and marketing manager, SRS Collection, stated:
According to him, supporting Children’s Day outreach reflects the company’s commitment to giving back and contributing to the well-being and happiness of children within its host communities.
“At Poshfield, we believe every child deserves a safe, happy space to grow, dream, and shine. Contributing to this outreach was our way of showing up for that belief,” Francis Ajilore, CEO, Poshfield, stated.
