In the Yoruba nation, Agbaarin, Dioclea reflexa seeds are seeds that cannot stay on top of each other, hence the aphorism ‘Ajatuka ni ti agbaarin’: the fight between two of such seeds ends in a stalemate.

In 2023, the lack of mutual understanding in the main opposition political party, the People’s Democratic Party, gave Tinubu the advantage of winning the presidential election. Everyone thought the entitlement mantra, ‘Emilokan’, was a mere abracadabra until the election was won. Yoruba still have a word for that, it is called ‘eedi’, the charm that makes a person behave in a way he would not otherwise have.
Thus, PDP gave birth to G5- headed by Nyezom Ezenwo Wike, Peter Obi’s Labour Party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s New Nigerian People’s Party, while Atiku Abubakar remained in the PDP.
But they have learnt nothing and forgotten everything. It is sad to say that these people are overambitious. And people are beginning to see them as mere power grabbers. Nobody is saying that President Bola Tinubu has a solution to all our collective challenges, be it security, power or finance, but leaders of the opposition/coalition are utopian almost daily; they need to be told that time is up. We are about to witness the reoccurrence of the 2023 presidential election results! How I wish it were otherwise.
Anyway, the person who is eager to inherit the prospective widow will not give a redeeming medicine to the ailing husband. Tinubu said to their hearing that he would not want their house to be in order, and neither would he help them to put it in order. What else did they want to hear? They should not blame the gods; they should blame their avarice for power.
A whorish woman who continues to elope with many men will either kill herself or her husband; she is most likely to kill herself.
The recent all-coalition meeting in Ibadan has produced the Agbaarin we referred to at the beginning of this piece.
