Victor Osimhen brace helps Galatasaray claim Turkish League title

Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor 4-2 on Saturday to seal a fourth consecutive Turkish Super Lig title.

The Istanbul giants finished four points ahead of fierce rivals Fenerbahçe with one game remaining after another dramatic comeback victory.

Galatasaray fell behind twice during the contest but showed resilience to turn the game around and secure their 26th league crown, further extending their dominance in Turkish football.

Osimhen equalised from the penalty spot in the 66th minute before striking again two minutes from time to cap a memorable evening for Okan Buruk’s side.

The Nigerian international has now registered 15 goals and five assists in 22 league appearances for the Yellow and Reds this season, underlining his importance in their title-winning campaign.

Galatasaray have accumulated 77 points from 33 matches, while second-placed Fenerbahçe remain on 73 points from the same number of games.

The title triumph also completed a remarkable season for Galatasaray, who maintained their superiority over their rivals after last month’s emphatic 3-0 victory against Fenerbahçe.
