Fadekemi Erinle, Gang James, Gyang Sunday and Aminat Alabi emerged as winners in the marathon segment, which was held across five-kilometre and 22-kilometre distances for both male and female participants.
The event, organised in partnership with The Fitness Religion Company, featured a mini-marathon, fun race, aerobics, dance sessions, a five-a-side football match and strength competitions, drawing participants from across the country.
Chairman of QShelter Limited, Kola Sowande, said the event was designed to raise awareness of the 2004 Estate project while contributing to efforts to address Nigeria’s housing deficit.
“This initiative is not just about promoting our project but about creating awareness of the scale and vision behind the 2004 Estate, as well as contributing to efforts to reduce the housing deficit in Nigeria. We believe this is just the beginning and we look forward to making this an annual event,” he said.
Chief Operating Officer Gbenga Alamu said the event was the product of deliberate community engagement and reflected an existing fitness culture within the area.
“We identified an existing culture of fitness within this environment and decided to build on it by creating a platform that brings people together at a larger scale. Beyond that, we are developing a community that supports not just housing, but lifestyle, wellness, and long-term value for residents,” he said.
Nollywood actor Tobi Bakre, who participated in the event, described the initiative as a commendable effort to bring people together through fitness, noting that the range of activities ensured that participants across different age groups and fitness levels could take part.
Female 22km marathon winner Erinle praised the organisers for the quality of the event, saying such initiatives played a critical role in advancing sports development in Nigeria.
The 2004 Estate, developed in partnership with Continental Civil General Construction Limited, is located 23 minutes from Victoria Island via the Lagos Coastal Road and is elevated five metres above sea level. It includes internal roads, a shopping mall, gated security, hybrid and solar power systems and a recreation centre, with flexible payment options including access through the MREIF Mortgage scheme.
