The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed.
According to the statement, Goje, until his appointment, served as Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, where he coordinated emergency preparedness and response efforts across the state.
“He served as the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) before his appointment as Acting Secretary to the State Government,” the statement read.
The appointment follows the resignation of the former SSG, Baba Malam Wali, who stepped down to pursue his ambition of contesting the 2027 Yobe State governorship election.
The development created a vacancy in the position, prompting the governor to approve an immediate replacement to ensure continuity in government coordination and administrative functions.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
