One person was killed and three others injured on Monday evening in a tricycle accident along Haske Road near the Lamingo Golf Club in Jos, Plateau State.

Eyewitnesses, including Mr Joseph Haruna, who spoke with PUNCH Metro in Jos on Monday, said the accident happened when one of the tricycle operators attempted to avoid a pothole and collided with an oncoming tricycle.
According to Haruna, the impact of the collision left one passenger dead at the scene, while three others sustained varying degrees of injury.
“The injured victims were immediately evacuated by sympathisers and emergency responders to a nearby hospital for treatment,” he said.
Another witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the incident as tragic and urged the relevant authorities to urgently repair the deteriorating sections of the road.
“The potholes along this road pose a danger to motorists and other road users.
“Something needs to be done before more lives are lost,” the witness said.
The accident caused temporary traffic congestion along the Haske Road corridor as residents and commuters gathered at the scene.
When contacted, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Plateau State, Route Commander Peter Longsan, said he would obtain details of the incident.
“I will get back to you,” he said.
However, he had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
As of press time, the relevant traffic and emergency management agencies had not issued an official statement on the accident.
