Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State have adopted the member representing Bodinga/Tureta/Shuni Federal Constituency, Nasiru Shehu Bodinga, for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The adoption took place on Saturday during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the APC secretariat in Bodinga Local Government Area, where party leaders and supporters commended the lawmaker’s representation at the National Assembly.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Bodinga Local Government, represented by his deputy, Junaid Bodinga, praised the lawmaker’s performance, saying his contributions to the constituency were evident.
He said, “Nasiru Shehu Bodinga has done tremendous work during his time as the representative of the people of the constituency. His contributions and commitment to the development of the area are visible to everyone.”
Also speaking, the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Tukur Bala Bodinga, said the people across the three local governments that make up the constituency had reaffirmed their support for the lawmaker.
“What you are seeing here today is colourful and delightful. We are very happy and pleased that he has no contention against him. The people have confirmed him for a second term,” he said.
In his remarks, Nasiru Shehu Bodinga thanked party stakeholders and constituents for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to intensify efforts towards effective representation.
“I want to thank all of you for this confidence and support. I assure you that I will double my efforts in delivering proper representation and more dividends of democracy to our people,” he said.
The Secretary to the State Government, Bello Sifawa, also endorsed the lawmaker’s adoption for another term.
The APC and other political parties have continued consultations and internal arrangements ahead of the 2027 general elections, with endorsements and consensus moves emerging in several states.
