No fewer than eight persons, including a police officer, were killed in coordinated attacks on several communities in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State by armed terrorists.

The association said the attacks occurred at about 5:00pm on Saturday in Sabon Layi, Rakung, Gana Ropp, Kworos-Gangare, Bet and Zat communities within Barkin Ladi town where seven people were killed at the spot.
According to the statement, seven injured persons are currently receiving treatment, with one of the victims reportedly rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospital while others are receiving treatment within Barkin Ladi town.
The group disclosed that an additional corpse identified as Bitrus, a car painter from Kworos-Gangare community, was discovered on Sunday morning, bringing the death toll to eight.
Those killed were identified as Andrew, popularly known as Baban Grace, Dung Chung, Ngo Esther Yusuf, an unidentified resident of Gana Ropp, an unidentified male resident around Deeper Life Church in Gura Kworos, another unidentified male adult from Kashan Gwol, police officer Baban Christy, and Bitrus.
The injured victims were identified as Tek Pam, Dajack Pam, Paul Yakubu, an unidentified man from Sabon Layi community, one injured victim from Gana Ropp community, and two male victims from Kashan Gwol.
The Berom Youth Moulders-Association maintained its earlier vote of no confidence on Victor Asuquo, a colonel and the Sector 4 Commander of Operation Enduring Peace, and the Operations Officer, Bello, a captain accusing them of negligence and inability to protect lives and property.
“It is deeply disturbing that communities continue to come under coordinated attacks in broad daylight and at night without any swift or effective response from security operatives.
Residents now live in constant fear, uncertainty, and trauma while armed attackers move freely across communities unleashing terror on innocent civilians,” the statement said.
At the time of filing this report, Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau State, could not be reached for comments as his telephone lines were unreachable, while text messages sent to his phone had yet to receive any response.
