Senior Special Assistant to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Jamiu Ogundele, has called for intensified grassroots mobilisation in support of the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ogundele, popularly known as Jamsalod, inaugurated 396 grassroots polling unit mobilisers across Imeko-Afon Local Government Area, urging them to work towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 polls.

According to a statement he issued on Tuesday, the mobilisation team comprises three members from each of the 132 polling units spread across the 10 political wards in the local government.
The team is mandated to coordinate grassroots engagement and expand support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, Senator Solomon Adeola’s governorship aspiration and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
The statement noted that the inauguration attracted party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, women’s associations and supporters from different parts of the local government.
“This initiative is designed to build a formidable grassroots network capable of reaching every community and polling unit in the area while mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, Senator Solomon Adeola’s governorship aspiration and the overall success of the APC in the 2027 elections.
“It is the beginning of a movement that will reach every ward, community and polling unit in our local government. Our objective is to ensure that the dividends of Senator Yayi’s leadership are appreciated by the people and to build a formidable grassroots structure ahead of 2027”, the statement quoted Ogundele to have said at the event.
He explained that the newly inaugurated team would embark on community engagement programmes, door-to-door sensitisation campaigns, youth empowerment initiatives and consultations with critical stakeholders to broaden support for the senator.
According to him, Adeola’s record in infrastructure development, constituency projects and human capital development has endeared him to many residents across Ogun State.
“Senator Yayi has demonstrated exceptional commitment to public service through impactful projects and human capital development. We are convinced that his experience and vision will take Ogun State to greater heights,” Ogundele added.
Several stakeholders who addressed the gathering described the inauguration as a strategic step towards strengthening the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the next governorship election.
Among those present were former member of the House of Representatives, Dele Ogunsiji; Chief Mrs Mary Ogunjobi; former Vice Chairman of Imeko-Afon Local Government, Hon. Mrs Fasilat Adebayo; APC Chairman in the local government, Mr Abdulrahman Adebolu; and other party leaders.
They expressed optimism that the mobilisation drive would further unite party members, deepen public participation and strengthen Senator Adeola’s growing support across Ogun State.
The APC chieftain also urged residents, particularly youths and women, to embrace the movement and contribute meaningfully to what he described as a collective vision for a more prosperous Ogun State.
Campaign materials, including branded flex banners, caps and other promotional items bearing Senator Adeola’s image and campaign inscriptions, were distributed to the mobilisers.
Speaking on behalf of the mobilisation team, the representatives pledged to intensify grassroots outreach across all 10 wards and the 132 polling units in Imeko-Afon Local Government Area.
