Sani hails Tinubu’s infrastructure drive in the North, says, “no other leader has done better”
- +….Vows Tinubu will get 70% votes in 2027
After several years of neglects, President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure drive is rejuvenating the north states, especially areas ravaged by insecurity, poverty and decays caused by natural disasters, as Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state, noted that no other Nigerian leader has favoured the Northern part of the country as much as President Tinubu.
Governor Sani who noted that the President has done so much to address insecurity, especially in the North through his infrastructure drive, called for vigilance against” deceitful politicians who may want to use insecurity to destabilise democracy”
The infrastructures include, road networks, rail lines linking remote, but agriculturally rich communities, health facilities, as well as provision of fertilizers, tractors and other farm inputs.
He cited the Abuja to Kaduna road which is set to be commissioned by December, this year, Kaduna -Kano section which is also nearing completion, the Sokoto- Badagry expressway, as well as the Kaduna – Kano- Maradi rail projects, linking several states, with the rest of the country
The battle against multi- dimensional poverty in the north, focuses also on Agricultural development in the region.
Before the Tinubu’s administration, Kaduna state witnessed about N3.5 trillion post harvest lost averagely, annually, as 12 most agriculturally rich local governments, in Southern Kaduna, were abandoned without infrastructures by the previous government, amongst others
The state commended the President for improving the revenue due to the sub nationals, which has helped Kaduna to boost massive infrastructure, constructing about 1450 kilometers of rural roads in about 3 years, according to Abdullahi Ahmed, managing director of Kaduna state roads agency
He also said that considering the landmark achievements he has recorded over the last three years on infrastructure, no candidate can come close to defeating him in the North in 2027.
Governor Sani equally expressed confidence that President Tinubu will easily secure at least 70 per cent of the votes in his state during the 2027 presidential elections, declaring Kaduna a “totally APC state.”
Sani, who made these declaration when he hosted members of the presidential media team currently on tour of states in the North Western part of the country
“If an election is conducted on all the social media platforms, President Tinubu will not win, but the outcome will definitely be different in an actual physical voting. President Tinubu will definitely record an overwhelming victory across the country,” he said.
He emphasising that there is no significant opposition to the President or the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Governor Sani argued that ongoing federal interventions and development projects will aid his victory.
“President Tinubu has done so much for the North, and I can boldly say that his administration has delivered more for Northern Nigeria than any previous government. The evidence is visible enough for everyone to see. One of them is the recent approval of major rail and road projects worth billions of Naira in Kaduna State. The projects are expected to boost infrastructure and drive economic growth in the region upon completion,” he noted.
“The increase in financial allocations to sub-national governments has enabled states to extend development to the grassroots and communities. Improved collaboration between the federal and state governments has enhanced governance and service delivery and contributes to public support for the President,” he noted.
“Also today, another project was approved for Kano state, almost 1 trillion naira. That is the story people are talking about. So for me, no President has supported the North more than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. No one would ever have done what he has done in less than three years now. And that is the reason why I cannot see any zone, not even the southwest, coming out to vote for him as much as the North.
“There is no opposition in Kaduna against President Tinubu in 2027. We make no apologies for that; given his support to the state and its people, I can boldly say that victory is assured because Kaduna is an APC state, he said.
The governor also reflected on Tinubu’s political history, describing him as “a committed democrat and long-time activist,” while criticising opposition figures whom he accused of attempting to undermine Nigeria’s democratic process.
“Some of us are fighting to defend democracy, fighting to ensure that this democracy is sustained simply because a lot of people lost their lives, lost their freedom in the battle. In particular, someone that has really taken his time, made all the sacrifices supporting most of us in the civil rights movement, was our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He was there with us, supporting democracy. Not only that, even after the 1999 election, when he became the governor of Lagos state, he continued to ensure that democracy was entrenched.
“That is the fact of the matter. It’s not about social media, it’s about working on the ground for the masses of our people.
“I am calling on Nigerians to be careful. We must develop our democracy. We must ensure that this democracy is sustained. Those who are talking about the military are doing so because they have never been in detention,” he said
