Yuguda made the declaration at the All Progressives Congress Secretariat in Gombe, where he was received by members of the state executive alongside hundreds of his supporters.
Addressing journalists at the party, the secretariat expressed appreciation to its supporters for the turnout.
“I want to thank everyone for coming out to support my ambition, both the young and the old, for turning out en masse,” he said.
“Actually, I am a civil servant and will always remain one at heart. What I will do, if elected governor, is to build on the existing template so that the Gombe State Government will continue to progress.”
He added that his ambition was driven by a desire to sustain the development strides already recorded in the state.
“What brought me here is to solicit the support of our party, as I aspire to be Governor of Gombe State. The governor has already established a precedent of development, and we hope to build on it,” Yuguda said.
In his response, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Gombe State, Mohammed Dantata, assured the aspirant of a level playing field.
He also urged all aspirants to conduct their campaigns in accordance with the law.
