The Bauchi State Police Command has successfully arrested two suspected kidnappers during a rapid response operation in Misau Local Government Area of the state.

The press statement read “Acting on credible intelligence received on 12th May 2026 from an anonymous source, operatives of the Command swiftly mobilised, trailed, and intercepted the suspects before they could carry out their plan. The timely intervention prevented harm to the intended victims and disrupted the criminal network’s operation.
Arrested suspected kidnappers include of the Kyellumi Umar and Muhammad Aliyu Gawo. Added that during interrogation, Kyellumi revealed that they had planned to rob one Labdo A whom they claimed does not keep his money in the bank and Baba who they alleged often comes to the market with a large sum of money in a bag.
The state Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the good efforts of the operatives for their professionalism, courage, and swift action.
Sani-Omolori reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal gangs and ensuring the safety of residents across Bauchi State.
He said that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID which they will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The commissioner urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information to the Police, further said “Security is a collective responsibility, and public cooperation remains critical to preventing crime.”
