The expanded tournament, the largest in FIFA World Cup history, will feature 48 national teams, including 10 African representatives, competing across 104 matches over 39 days.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, the pay-TV company revealed a N50 million prize pool, headlined by a N10 million grand prize for one lucky subscriber.
Oke Umurhohwo, Marketing Director of StarTimes Nigeria, said the company had further enhanced the rewards package with seven StarTimes H30 Solar Home Systems and 14 StarTimes S130B plus 32-inch television bundles, bringing the total prize value to N50 million.
“We are one of the official broadcasters of the FIFA World Cup 2026, and all 104 matches will be shown live on StarTimes,” Umurhohwo said.
“We have dedicated channels for the tournament, and every match will be available on our platform. The good times are back again.”
He added that subscribers on the Basic Bouquet would have access to all World Cup matches and announced the launch of a nationwide ‘Watch and Win’ campaign.
“It is not just about watching the World Cup. We want our customers to watch and win,” he said.
“A lucky subscriber will go home with N10 million, while many others will win solar products, television bundles and other exciting prizes.
“We believe N10 million can make a significant difference in somebody’s life, and this is our way of rewarding our loyal customers.”
Umurhohwo also disclosed that StarTimes had reduced the prices of decoders and accessories to make premium sports content more accessible to Nigerians during the World Cup.
Onyebuchi Uchefuna, Sales Director, StarTimes Nigeria, Lagos Zone, said subscribers would enjoy comprehensive tournament coverage, including pre-match analysis, half-time discussions and post-match reviews from the company’s dedicated World Cup studio.
“We have also made provisions on the StarTimes ON mobile application, enabling football fans to watch matches live on their mobile devices wherever they are,” Uchefuna said.
He added that the company plans to organise fan watch parties in selected cities during the knockout stages, semi-finals, and final to deepen fan engagement and create opportunities for advertisers and sponsors.
