In a strategic move that signals the future of accessible, integrated healthcare in Nigeria, Vanguard Pharmacy has unveiled a new flagship branch in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, reinforcing its growing role as a transformative force in community health delivery.
Positioned beside FCMB along the Ogbomoso–Oyo Road, the outlet marks the company’s 13th branch nationwide and its eighth in Oyo State – a milestone that underscores its accelerating expansion across the South-West.
More than a conventional pharmacy, the Ogbomoso hub represents a forward-thinking model of healthcare, one that blends pharmaceutical services with veterinary care, nutrition, and retail essentials to meet the evolving needs of modern communities.
The event drew a diverse audience of stakeholders, reflecting strong public confidence in the brand’s consumer-driven approach to healthcare access.
Representing the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Oyo State chapter, Adebayo Gbadamosi, Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), described the expansion into cities such as Ibadan, Osogbo, Abeokuta, and now Ogbomoso as a bold statement of vision and professionalism.
“This is more than expansion — it is a model for sustainable, ethical, and community-centered healthcare delivery. Vanguard Pharmacy is proving that indigenous enterprises can scale while maintaining global standards,” he noted.
Delivering a keynote address titled ‘Empowering Lives, One Community at a Time: Unveiling Vanguard Pharmacy Ogbomosho, Our Thirteenth Beacon of Hope,’ Taofik Odukoya, founder and CEO, highlighted the company’s mission to bridge healthcare gaps through innovation and accessibility.
According to him, the future of pharmacy lies in hybrid service delivery, combining physical outlets with digital platforms to ensure medicines and health essentials are within reach for every Nigerian.
“Through our expanding physical presence and growing digital ecosystem, we are redefining how Nigerians access medications and care. Our goal is to rank among the top players in the pharmaceutical landscape, driven by innovation, resilience, and a people-first philosophy,” he said.
Odukoya disclosed that the new branch is already making impact, having supported patients and healthcare providers in sourcing rare medications within weeks of its soft launch – a development he described as a glimpse into the company’s reliability and supply chain strength.
Beyond healthcare delivery, the expansion is also expected to stimulate local economic growth, creating jobs and strengthening small-business linkages within Ogbomosho and surrounding communities.
With over 500 direct employees and more than 1,000 indirect jobs generated through partnerships, Vanguard Pharmacy is steadily emerging as a significant contributor to the region’s health economy.
The company is also positioning itself at the forefront of integrated health systems through its adoption of the One Health approach, which connects human, animal, and environmental well-being. Its inclusion of veterinary services reflects a broader vision of safer food systems and healthier communities.
Residents were assured that the Ogbomosho outlet offers a one-stop destination, combining pharmacy, veterinary care, supermarket, and bakery services – reinforcing the idea that healthcare begins with proper nutrition and lifestyle choices.
Looking ahead, Odukoya revealed that the company is set to deepen its national footprint, with new branches planned for Ilorin in the coming months.
“The brand is evolving rapidly. With our 14th and 15th branches on the horizon, we are not just growing, we are scaling impact,” he said.
Despite prevailing economic headwinds, he affirmed the company’s commitment to resilience, innovation, and service excellence, attributing its progress to a dedicated workforce and strong institutional support.
He expressed appreciation to regulatory bodies including the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria as well as traditional and government stakeholders for their continued collaboration.
As Vanguard Pharmacy continues to expand, its Ogbomosho hub stands as a symbol of what the future of community healthcare in Nigeria could look like; integrated, accessible, and driven by innovation.
