The Elders Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Jigawa State has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi for re-election ahead of the next general elections.

The endorsement was announced on Sunday following a caucus meeting of the party held at the Government House in Dutse and chaired by the governor.

The elders also resolved to purchase nomination forms for both leaders when the party opens the sale of forms.
Speaking on behalf of elders from Jigawa Central, Faruk Adamu said the decision was based on what he described as the “giant strides” recorded by Tinubu and Namadi in the past three years.
“This is in recognition of the giant strides displayed by the two leaders in the past three years,” Adamu said.
He added that both leaders had demonstrated commitment to development and good governance since assuming office.
According to him, the decision to endorse them was unanimous after reviewing their performance across key sectors.
Adamu further noted that the move to purchase nomination forms underscored the elders’ confidence in their leadership and capacity to deliver.
Addressing the meeting, Namadi called for unity among party members, urging them to work together to secure victory for the APC in the forthcoming elections.
“Let us remain united and work together to ensure the victory of our party at all levels during the forthcoming general elections,” the governor said.
He commended the elders for their support and initiative, describing the endorsement as a boost for the party.
The meeting was attended by party stakeholders and elders drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state.
