The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the vaccination of 1,714 intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj, as part of preparations for a successful pilgrimage exercise.

The vaccination, conducted by A.I. Owolabi, the Port Health Services. This covers immunisation against oral polio, meningitis, and yellow fever key health requirements for entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji AbdulKadri Abdulsalam, Executive Secretary of the Board, said the initiative is aimed at safeguarding the health of pilgrims while ensuring compliance with international travel and Hajj protocols.
Abdulsalam described the exercise as a critical component of pre-Hajj arrangements and urged all intending pilgrims across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state to participate fully and adhere strictly to medical guidelines provided by health officials.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare, safety, and smooth participation of all pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.
Meanwhile, the Board has also begun distributing uniform materials and travelling bags to intending pilgrims.
The initiative, according to the Executive Secretary, is designed to enhance easy identification, promote orderliness, and ensure convenience during the pilgrimage.
The Board further emphasised that the distribution underscores its dedication to a seamless and well-coordinated Hajj operation.
