Among the dignitaries who attended the funeral were former Anambra State governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi; and former Rivers State governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
In a statement issued after the funeral, Rhodes-Vivour expressed appreciation to guests for their support, empathy and presence during the family’s period of mourning.
He specifically thanked former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Amaechi, Obi and Kashim Imam for their support.
Rhodes-Vivour also acknowledged Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, Ken Pela, Olumide Akpata and Abdul-Azeez Adediran for extending their condolences and standing with the family.
“There is a certain vulnerability that comes with the loss of a loved one. It changes one’s perspective on life and reminds us of what truly matters,” he said.
The ADC governorship candidate described his late mother as a woman whose greatest legacy was the love she showed and the lives she impacted within her family, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, across ECOWAS, in her church and among friends.
He added that her memory would continue to inspire those who knew her and preserve the values she represented.
