Chemical and Allied Products Plc (CAP Plc), a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, has appointed its Chief Operating Officer, Jethro Iruobe, as an executive director, strengthening its leadership team as the paints and coatings manufacturer pursues its growth strategy.

Before his appointment, Iruobe served as CAP’s chief operating officer, overseeing the company’s human resources, corporate communications, fleet management and commercial excellence functions.
In his new role, he will participate in shaping and executing the company’s strategic priorities, while providing executive leadership across key business functions to drive growth and long-term sustainability.
Iruobe joined CAP Plc in 2019 as head of human resources and subsequently rose to the position of chief operating officer. He brings more than 19 years of experience spanning financial services, consulting, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and manufacturing.
He began his career in banking before transitioning into human resources at KPMG. He later held senior leadership positions at Promasidor Nigeria, Coca-Cola HBC and TGI Nigeria, where he played key roles in talent management, organisational development and business transformation.
Beyond his corporate career, Iruobe is a columnist with BusinessDay Newspaper, a trained relationship counsellor and co-author, and has received several professional and industry awards. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Benin and an MBA from Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification.
Alongside Iruobe’s appointment, CAP announced changes to its company secretariat. Aramide Nwokediuko will step down as company secretary effective July 13, 2026, to assume a new executive role within the UAC Group. She will be succeeded by Olutola Bella, the company’s general counsel, who will combine both responsibilities and advise the board on governance, legal and regulatory compliance matters.
Bella has over 18 years of legal and corporate advisory experience, having previously held senior positions at DealWorks Advisory, Moove, Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Banwo & Ighodalo and Aluko & Oyebode.
The board said it was confident that the new appointments would strengthen the company’s leadership and support its continued growth and success.
