In a statement on Friday, the mission noted that its participation in international trade platforms is part of broader efforts to expand market access for Tanzanian products and foster mutually beneficial commercial partnerships across Africa.
“The participation of the Tanzania High Commission aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen economic diplomacy and deepen trade relations between Tanzania and Nigeria,” the mission said.
The mission explained that such engagements are aimed at boosting bilateral trade, encouraging private-sector collaboration, and opening new investment opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and services.
The high commission added that Tanzania’s growing export base offers significant opportunities for Nigerian importers, distributors, and investors seeking high-quality agricultural and value-added products.
It also emphasised that trade partnerships between both countries remain central to advancing the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which seeks to promote intra-African trade and economic integration.
According to the mission, continued cooperation between Tanzania and Nigeria will help strengthen supply chains, enhance business linkages, and support sustainable economic growth in both countries.
The commission further encouraged stakeholders in both nations to take advantage of upcoming trade exhibitions and business forums to build partnerships and explore new commercial opportunities.
It added that as one of East Africa’s fastest-growing economies and a leading producer of premium agricultural products, its forthcoming Food & Beverage West Africa 2026 exhibition, scheduled to take place in Lagos, from June 9 to 11, 2026, will showcase its diverse food and beverage offerings at the exhibition.
“Visitors are invited to explore the Tanzania Pavilion at Booth 3E06, Hall 3, where a rich selection of authentic Tanzanian products will be on display.
“The exhibition will feature some of Tanzania’s most sought-after products, including premium tea and coffee, fine wines, cashew nuts, spices, spreads and dips, as well as a variety of other value-added food and beverage products. Renowned for their quality, unique flavours, and growing international appeal, these products reflect Tanzania’s commitment to agricultural excellence and value-chain development,” the statement added.
The mission said that beyond product exhibitions, the Tanzania Pavilion will serve as a strategic platform for trade promotion and investment engagement, maintaining that a delegation of Tanzanian private-sector companies and industry representatives will be present throughout the event to facilitate Business-to-Business meetings and explore partnerships with Nigerian and international buyers, distributors, importers, retailers, investors, and hospitality industry stakeholders.
