GIGM unveils Hire X, its ride-hailing service, and PASS, a travel and ticketing platform, at GPC 2026

The conference opened with a keynote speech by the CEO, Dr Enahoro Okhae, who set the tone for what GPC represents going forward.
“We have put ourselves on the pedestal of product development like never before, and we have built something on which we can premise our growth.”
He reflected on the company’s journey, from moving passengers between Benin and Lagos to building a network of over 40 terminals across Nigeria. He also emphasised how GIGM is leaning into technology to solve mobility challenges as the world becomes more digitally connected.
Next was a goodwill message from the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, represented by the Deputy Director for Hotel Licensing, Mrs Nike Quadry- Adebowale. She highlighted how mobility plays a critical role across different sectors, from employment to healthcare and education.
“I commend GIG Mobility Nigeria for their full step in launching transformative solutions like IRX.IG and platform. Today’s innovations define travel, not just as movement, but as experience.”
One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of Hire X, GIGM’s entry into premium ride-hailing and car hire services. With Hire X, the company is expanding beyond interstate transport into a marketplace that offers users access to premium vehicles for personal, business, and lifestyle needs.
The platform offers flexible options: users can book for a duration, schedule rides in advance, request airport pickups or drop-offs, or simply order a ride on demand. Pricing varies depending on the vehicle and service type, but remains competitive within the industry. Users can also choose from a range of high-end vehicles, including brands like Rolls-Royce and Tesla.
Currently available in Lagos, Hire X is expected to expand into other cities soon. It is accessible via the GIGM mobile app on both Android and iOS platforms. The company also hinted at plans to integrate more electric vehicles into the service.
Speaking on the launch, the Senior Product Manager for Hire X said:
“We’ve been in the transportation mobility space for over 20 years, and in that space we’ve brought new thinking to the market. We’ve literally defined what the market looks like today.”
Another major reveal was PASS by GIGM (Premium Access to Simplified Services), the company’s travel and tour division. PASS is designed to provide end-to-end travel solutions for individuals, groups, and organisations.
Its offerings include flight bookings (both domestic and international), curated tourism experiences, holiday packages, hotel reservations, and group travel management for corporate or social trips.
Camsel Samuel, Head of Operations for PASS, shared the vision behind the platform:
“We are very intentional about what we’re building. We’re very serious. We’re taking this industry by storm. We are demystifying travel. We are making sure travel is accessible, end to end.”
GIG Mobility’s journey dates back to 1998, when Edwin and Stella Ajaere founded God Is Good Motors in Benin City. What started as a simple transport service between Benin and Lagos has grown into a tech-driven mobility company with operations across Nigeria and Ghana.
After Edwin Ajaere’s passing in 2008, leadership transitioned to his son, Chidi Ajaere, who introduced a stronger focus on technology and innovation. This shift eventually led to the company’s rebrand to GIG Mobility in 2019.
Over the years, the company has introduced several digital solutions, including its mobile app launched in 2016, online booking systems, vehicle tracking, and automated ticketing via self-service kiosks. Its expansion into Ghana in 2019 further marked its growth beyond Nigeria.
Today, with products like Hire X, PASS by GIGM, and GBoat services, the company is positioning itself not just as a transport provider but as a full mobility and travel ecosystem.
