The Ogun State Government on Tuesday commissioned the ATC Business and Industrial Park, a 10-acres private investment hub situated in Ode-Remo, a few kilometers to the newly built Gateway Airport, describing the project as a major boost to industrialisation, job creation, and capital inflows in the state.
Dapo Abiodun, the governor of the state, represented by Ade Akinsanya, the commissioner for Works, said the facility aligns with the administration’s strategy to position Ogun as a leading destination for business and innovation.
Speaking at the event, Abiodun commended the promoters of the park, Oladipo Odujinrin, a former senator, for delivering what he described as a “large-scale project” that would deepen economic opportunities and improve livelihoods.
He said the industrial park would stimulate job creation, support small and medium enterprises, and attract both local and foreign investors, while also serving as a catalyst for community development.
“The park will open up opportunities for skill acquisition, increased commerce, and improved living standards for residents within and around Ode-Remo,” he said, adding that the planned shopping mall within the facility would further strengthen its potential as a commercial hub.
The governor reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for businesses through infrastructure development and public-private partnerships, assuring investors that Ogun remains open for business.
Earlier in his welcome address, Odujinrin, who is the chairman of Abejoye Trading Company Limited, described the project as “history in motion” and a strategic economic platform rather than just infrastructure.
According to him, the 10-acre park already has four acres fully developed with core infrastructure including internal road networks, stable power supply, administrative facilities, and three warehouses fully occupied by foreign-owned companies.
“This is not a proposal; this is a functioning economic zone with proven demand,” he said, noting that the park is positioned within a rapidly emerging industrial corridor close to key logistics assets, including the Gateway International Airport and the proposed Olokola Deep Sea Port.
Odujinrin said the company is opening the remaining six acres for co-investment opportunities, including plans for a shopping mall, a four-star hotel, and mixed-use developments.
He emphasised that the park offers investors a “de-risked” environment with existing tenant demand, scalable infrastructure, and embedded power solutions designed to address energy challenges.
Also speaking, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland, expressed satisfaction with the project, describing it as a significant development for the area.
He commended the promoters and urged continued support for initiatives that would drive economic growth in Remoland.
The commissioning also featured the groundbreaking of a shopping mall within the park, marking the beginning of the second phase of the development.
Stakeholders at the event said the project is expected to strengthen Ogun State’s industrial base and reinforce its reputation as Nigeria’s manufacturing hub.
