APC Deputy National Secretary AbdulKarim Kana declares interest in Nasarawa West Senate seat ahead of 2027 elections.
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor AbdulKarim Kana, has declared his intention to contest for the Nasarawa West Senatorial District seat.
Kana made his declaration on Tuesday in Lafia when he led hundreds of supporters and party loyalists to the APC State Secretariat to formally notify the state leadership of his ambition.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) said his decision followed wide consultations and sustained pressure from stakeholders across the five local government areas of Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto, which make up the senatorial district.
“This is not a personal ambition, but a response to the collective voice of our people who believe I can offer effective representation at the Red Chamber,” Kana said.
“I have served the party at the national level with loyalty and integrity, and I am ready to bring that same dedication to serve my senatorial district.”
Kana also appreciated Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule for backing Senator Ahmed Wadada as his preferred candidate for the governorship race, pledging loyalty to both the governor and the party.
He described Wadada as a worthy ambassador of the state who has distinguished himself in public service.
“We will do everything possible to ensure that Wadada wins our party primaries as well as the general election to be the next governor in 2027,” he added.
Receiving the aspirant, the Nasarawa State APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello, commended Kana for following due process by consulting party structures before declaring his ambition.
He described Kana as a disciplined party member whose loyalty is not in doubt and urged him to maintain maturity throughout the campaign period in the overall interest of the party.
