Bankole, who also serves as the APC National Leader for Persons with Disabilities, described Nigerian workers as the “Engine room of national development,” commending their resilience and commitment despite prevailing economic challenges.
The APC chieftain noted that Tinubu’s reform policies were designed with a long-term vision to reposition Nigeria’s economy and improve living standards.
He said, “Our party’s policies are not driven by short-term considerations only, but by a long-term national vision to build a stronger, more prosperous, and globally competitive Nigeria. This journey is ultimately for the benefit of all Nigerians, especially our workers.”
Bankole added that early signs of progress were already visible across key sectors, including education and other strategic institutions, which he said were experiencing relative stability.
While acknowledging that the gains were still emerging, he expressed confidence that workers would ultimately benefit the most as the reforms mature.
“The relative peace we are witnessing across key sectors is evidence that these reforms are gaining traction. These are important milestones in our broader economic recovery agenda.
“What we are seeing today are encouraging early gains, but the bigger rewards are ahead. When the dividends of these policies mature fully, Nigerian workers will be the greatest beneficiaries,” he added.
The APC chieftain further urged workers to remain patient and continue to support government policies through constructive engagement, stressing that nation-building requires collective effort.
He also reassured workers that their welfare remains central to the party’s governance philosophy, noting that ongoing policies are aimed at stabilising the economy, creating opportunities, and improving living standards.
Bankole wished Nigerian workers a fulfilling Workers’ Day celebration, reiterating solidarity with the labour movement.
