Soludo had, in March, launched the first batch of the ‘Anambra Skilled Ladies Training Programme’, a vocational initiative designed to equip women across the state with skills in traditionally male-dominated professions.
The programme, championed through her “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative,” aims to break professional stereotypes and provide women with high-demand technical skills for economic empowerment.
In a press statement she released on Saturday, the Anambra first lady noted that the five-week intensive practical classes for the young women have empowered them through a well-structured entrepreneurial package offering them the opportunity to learn and prosper through lucrative technical skills.
Soludo expressed satisfaction with the ongoing skills training programme for the women, describing it as a “game changer” that has empowered the women with practical skills to excel in professions traditionally dominated by men.
According to her, these initiatives, which focused on bridging the employment gap, fostering innovation, and enhancing civic participation among women, showed that the future remains bright for them.
She said, “It’s been five weeks of intensive practical classes for the ‘Anambra Skilled Ladies Programme’. What thrills me most about this novel exercise is the passion, dedication and meticulousness that these amazing ladies have invested in every task, however daunting.
“I am pleased with how far we have come in this great vision. Soon, these ladies — who began this journey out of sheer passion — would be graduating with the kind of quality and experience that will transform their lives forever.

The skills acquisition training covers four key areas: Solar and CCTV Installation and Repairs, AC Repair and Maintenance, Tricycle (Keke) Repair, and Painting.
