Dr. Faisal Shuaib, former Executive Director of the National Primar Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and a globally respected public health expert, has declared his vision is to consolidate and build on the successes recorded under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule when elected governor come 2027.

Speaking to newsmen after a stakeholders’ convergence in Akwanga Local Government Area, where he formally answered the call of numerous support groups, Dr. Shuaib laid out a vision that diverges sharply from the typical political rhetoric of radical overhauls and sweeping rejections of the past.
“My vision is to consolidate, and to innovate on the foundations already laid by Governor Abdullahi Sule,” Dr. Shuaib told the gathering of youth leaders, women’s groups, and party faithful who had converged to urge him to enter the race.
The forum, originally billed as a consensus-building meeting, quickly transformed into a political endorsement arena as speaker after speaker appealed to the former health agency boss to offer himself for leadership. Dr. Shuaib, visibly moved by the demonstration of confidence, accepted the challenge, describing his decision as a moral and spiritual obligation tied to the collective aspirations of the people of Nasarawa State.
“I am deeply humbled by this show of confidence,” he said. “This call to serve is not just political; it is an oath before God to work for the welfare, unity, and prosperity of our dear state”.
Dr. Shuaib, who earned national and international acclaim for coordinating Nigeria’s historic exit from the polio era and leading the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic at the NPHCDA, believes his technocratic background makes him uniquely suited to scale up achievements recorded by Governor Sule.
He said his policy thrust is anchored on a robust agenda that includes healthcare reforms, economic development, improved infrastructure, security enhancement, youth and women empowerment, agricultural productivity, and education development . This, he argues, is a roadmap to elevate the quality of life for citizens while sustaining the governance approach of the present administration.
