The event, held at Orchid Hotel, attracted party faithful and stakeholders from across the state.
Speaking after his inauguration, the state chairman, Chief Angiamaowei Richman Oyindoubra, said the successful congress signalled a new direction for the party and its readiness to serve Nigerians.
He said the party was committed to addressing the country’s economic and security challenges, with a focus on improving the welfare of the people.
Oyindoubra noted that the current economic situation had worsened living conditions, adding that many Nigerians were struggling with rising costs of goods and services.
According to him, the party would intensify mobilisation and voter sensitisation ahead of future elections.
“The people will give us the mandate, and we will stand by them to address the economic and security challenges facing the country,” he said.
Also speaking, a party leader and former governorship aspirant, Ken Pela, said his decision to join the party was based on its clarity of purpose and commitment to service.
Pela, who recently defected from the African Democratic Congress, described the NDC as a credible alternative for Nigerians seeking change.
He commended the party’s national leadership, particularly Seriake Dickson, for providing direction and sustaining the platform.
He also referenced the recent entry of Peter Obi into the party, describing it as a sign of renewed hope and a realignment of values.
According to him, the congress was not just about filling positions but about redefining leadership and governance in the state.
“We are not here to continue politics as usual. We are here to reset the system and build a Delta State anchored on integrity, unity, and shared prosperity,” he said.
Pela added that the party aimed to promote accountable leadership and expand opportunities for citizens.
