The Management of KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, has announced the appointment of Professor Olajumoke Morenikeji as the institution’s Vice-Chancellor-designate.

The appointment, which followed a rigorous and transparent selection process, was approved by the Board of Trustees in line with the provisions of the university’s law (2016) and subsequently ratified at the 33rd Statutory Meeting of the Governing Council held on April 30, 2026.

The announcement was signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Haruna Olawale Adetu, on Tuesday.
She is expected to assume office on August 3, 2026.
Morenikeji, a distinguished scholar in parasitology, holds B. Sc., M. Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Zoology from the University of Ibadan.
She became a Professor of Parasitology in 2016 and has built an extensive research portfolio spanning tropical diseases such as malaria and schistosomiasis, with over 120 publications and several scholarly books to her credit.
She has held several leadership roles within academia, including Head of Department, Dean, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at KolaDaisi University, where she contributed significantly to institutional development, research visibility, and governance.
Her appointment is widely regarded as a significant milestone in advancing the university’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact.
