Abiodun, in his Easter message, according to a statement made available to journalists on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, described the season as a profound reminder of sacrifice, love, redemption, and hope for humanity.
He noted, “The resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolises victory over adversity and offers renewed assurance of a better future for all. I therefore urge Christians and every Nigerian to reflect on the core values of Easter—selflessness, humility, forgiveness, and compassion—and to emulate these virtues in their daily lives.”
He emphasised that such values are essential for fostering peace, unity, and sustainable development in society.
The governor also called on residents of Ogun State to use the festive period to pray for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the state and the nation at large.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering good governance and improving the welfare of the people.
While wishing all Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration, Governor Abiodun encouraged citizens to remain hopeful and steadfast, assuring them that better days lie ahead for Ogun State and Nigeria.
“Easter reminds us that after every trial comes triumph. Let us continue to work together in unity and faith for the collective good of our dear state,” the governor said.
Likewise, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation and senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola, fondly called Yayi, has urged Nigerians to embrace love, sacrifice, and hope for a better future, drawing inspiration from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.
Adeola also called on Nigerians to continue praying for President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as demonstrating genuine leadership and commitment to restoring the country to the path of greatness and economic prosperity.
The senator made this known in his Easter message issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Chief Kayode Odunaro, on Sunday.
Adeola stressed that faithful implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda is laying a solid foundation for a prosperous and secure future, with results recognised globally.
He appealed to all Nigerians to embrace the Christian virtues of sacrifice, patience, love, and abiding faith, stressing that no society can truly develop where these virtues are not consciously practised.
He stated, “As you are aware, the incumbent administration of President Tinubu at the national level and in all APC-controlled states is implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda, which is positioning Nigeria on the right trajectory for positive economic growth.
“This exciting development has been acknowledged by global economic institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, and WTO. President Tinubu has shown courage in doing what is right for the nation at this time, and I have no doubt that we will be seeing more dividends of democracy soon.
“In addition to contributing to resolving our economic and security challenges in whatever capacity we can, I call on all Nigerians to pray for the President during the Easter celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and beyond.”
Adeola further urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and support the government’s efforts in building a better society free from rampant insecurity and economic deprivation. He added, “Just as the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ opened a path for the salvation of sinners, there is hope for a better Nigeria for all, through hard work and sincere prayers.”
