The party executives emerged through consensus during the state congress held in the Yaba area of Lagos, with delegates and party supporters in attendance.
The congress also attracted several leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party who formed an alliance with APM leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the event on Monday, the Chairman of the Congress Committee, Mr Godwin Williamson, commended the peaceful conduct of delegates and party leaders during the exercise.
Williamson said the party officials were returned through consensus to strengthen unity and stability within the party in the state.
Announcing the names of other executives, he said Mr Gabriel Iwatamaye was elected Deputy Chairman, while Mr Abiodun Abari emerged as Secretary.
He listed the others as Halimat Abdulrafiu (Assistant Secretary), Akeem Kolapo (Organising Secretary), Ayodele Kazeem (Publicity Secretary), Tajudeen Alatishe (Treasurer), Aminat Yusuf (Women Leader), Zainab Adeyemi (Youth Leader), and Mrs Caroline Karounwi-Adebamiro (Legal Adviser).
Others, according to him, are Moruf Ogunrinu (Assistant Organising Secretary), Nurudeen Awolumate (Vice Chairman, West), Tajudeen Oyinloye (Vice Chairman, Central), Segun Okutade (Vice Chairman, East), while Lateef Oki, Adeniji Dacosta, and Hassan Shambakiu emerged as ex officio members.
Williamson urged the newly elected executives to work diligently in promoting the values, ideals, and programmes of the party across the state.
According to him, the congress, which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, became necessary ahead of the party primaries and the 2027 general elections.
He advised the new executives to open the party’s doors to well-meaning Nigerians seeking a credible platform to contest the 2027 elections.
Speaking with journalists on behalf of the committee after taking the Oaths of Allegiance and Office, Adeyemo thanked party leaders and delegates for the opportunity to lead the party and pledged not to disappoint them ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adeyemo expressed confidence in the party’s growing popularity and vowed to lead the APM to electoral success in Lagos State.
“People are hungry and suffering. What people want now are leaders who can deliver. APM is now standing strong in Lagos, and I believe we will succeed,” she said.
“We are taking Lagos and moving Lagos forward. I believe we are going to achieve our aim,” she added.
The chairman said Nigerians were yearning for leaders with credibility and capacity to improve their welfare rather than focusing on party dominance.
Adeyemo said the party had aspirants for various elective positions, including governorship, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly seats.
“We have about 69 aspirants across different positions in Lagos State,” she said.
Also speaking, the Organising Secretary, Mr Akeem Kolapo, said the emergence of the new executives through consensus reflected unity within the party.
“The process was peaceful. Our leaders agreed on a consensus because we wanted unity and progress for the party,” he said.
Kolapo described the alliance between APM and PDP members in Lagos as a strategic movement aimed at strengthening opposition politics in the state.
A PDP chieftain and member of the alliance, Dr Adetokunbo Pearse, described the coalition with the APM as a democratic strategy to provide Nigerians with an alternative platform.
According to him, the alliance became necessary to strengthen opposition politics and challenge what he described as the poor governance of the ruling APC.
Pearse said the coalition would mobilise supporters across political divides ahead of the 2027 elections in the state and across the country.
