At least four persons, including three farmers and a herder, have been killed in fresh attacks in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

Leaders of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM) and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) confirmed that the farmers were killed Sunday night in Pwomol village, Barkin Ladi, while a herder was killed Monday morning in Jol, Riyom.
Rwang Tengwong, BYM spokesperson said the attack targeted vigilante youth guarding the community, adding that one person was injured and is receiving treatment.
While condemning the attack, Dalyop Mwantiri, BYM national president, called for investigation, saying that the group “commended the swift intervention of Operation Enduring Peace” and urged residents to remain vigilant.
Confirming the herder’s dead, Ibrahim Babayo, MACBAN chairman, , said, “the deceased was ambushed alongside his younger brother, but the young man escaped. They gunned him down”.
He added, “I personally reported the incident to DSS and Operation Safe Haven. We recovered the body from Sector 6, Makera”.
