The type of wife men of God should have was revealed on the day Michael Cassidy, the Apostle heading the Lighthouse Family Church, marked his 50th birthday. The issue was scandals with men of God was raised even with Cassidy himself. They were asked how such could be curtailed so the name of Christ would not always be ridiculed.

When the wife, Mary, came to the hot seat, she seemed to pour balm on the mic. She revealed the bond between her and Cassidy. She was asked if what she said the brochure was cover up.
Her answer: “No, not at all. I was born in Lagos and I came into Rivers State as a little girl, no plans. And I met him. I joined his fellowship, and I became a part of his leadership in fellowship, and he taught me the word of God. Everything I know today, he’s the one that taught me. He even taught me how to dress. He taught me how to mix colours. So, he’s my teacher. He has been my teacher before he became my husband, and he’s still my teacher till today. There are some things I do even in the public scene, and he says, ‘No, you shouldn’t have said it that way, you should say it this way.’ And I believe that forever God gave me a favorable man to marry, and he is my teacher. So, it wasn’t just a writing, it was my inner heart I shared.”
It was clear that many wives of men of God do not have, let alone share any bond. Soon, crisis that would rock the House of God.
When asked to give her secret away as advice, she used something full of wisdom and escape route. “That’s a very good question. Thank you. It’s all in the Bible. The answer is in the Bible, from Ephesians chapter 5. God has given us the blueprint on how to survive in marriage. He said, ‘Husbands, love your wife; wives, do what? Respect your husband.’ Once you follow that guideline, everything will fall into place.”
